PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS Performance, installation / PL (03.2010) Performance / UA (08.2010) POSTCARD (pdf) The idea of today "empty" but formerly vivid places was realised in our project in Poland and Ukraine. It is connected to the expulsion of Poles and Ukrainians during and after World War II. This problem touched both lands and both nations: evacuation, banishing, deportation and in the end shifting the border. My artistic part of this project had been realised on two places (PL and UA) in the Bieszczady mountains and Podole region. I made plaster "casts" of the earth ("negatives" of the surface of the earth) with parts of the soil on it. I also made interventions/installations on those places: e.g. played games for some time period in the house ruins, as a symbol of former vividness on that place. Later, in my atelier I was working on the forms of the casts basing on originals, making drawings and paintings.
